New Transit for All PA! fellowship will train transIt riders and transit workers to grow the Transit Justice movement in Lancaster & the Lehigh Valley

In 2026, Transit For All PA! is deepening our statewide movement by supporting advocates in communities outside Philly and Pittsburgh to build their local demand for transit. Regional Organizing Fellows will canvass local transit riders and workers, conduct rider surveys, and synthesize feedback, to identify and build a concrete, local transit demand. By developing local demands, fellows will shape how the community fits into the fight for expanded, reliable, accessible public transportation across the Commonwealth.

Throughout the fellowship, fellows will work with local organizations and the Transit For All PA! Statewide Campaign Manager to connect transit to other issue areas, and build a base of active transit riders in Lancaster and the Lehigh Valley. Each regional group will meet weekly to train on canvassing, learn about local and state political power structures, and co-develop your demands and actions.

In March, fellows will participate in the Transit for All Organizing Spring Training, alongside riders, workers, and advocates from across the state, with opportunities to be on a panel and present your community’s transit organizing work. Alongside your local action in late June, you will attend the rally and day of action at the State Capitol in Harrisburg, tentatively scheduled for June 3.

About Transit For All PA!

Transit for All PA! is a grassroots movement to expand and improve transit access for all Pennsylvanians. The organizing began in 2021 when Pittsburghers for Public Transit convened a series of statewide advocacy calls with hundreds of transit riders and workers all across PA to sound the alarm about the expiration of Pennsylvania’s transit funding source. In the years since, the organizing has brought together 45,000 transit riders, transit workers, neighbors, businesses, and allied organizations from all across our state. Together, a core set of values was built which have guided the movement’s organizing for improved transit access, transit jobs, and transit funding.

Whether 500-person mass meetings, 350-person rallies & lobby days in Harrisburg, or letter writing campaigns that have sent more than 345,000 letters to every single State Representative & Senator, Transit for All  PA!’s organizing is bringing together Pennsylvanians from Rural and Urban communities all across our state to fight and win the transit funding we deserve.
